Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement celebrated annually. The day was created to remind and energise all people to give back to community and do good for the world.
One of the core life skills embedded in our programs is community mindedness. We help young people understand the importance of community, and through their community project they also learn the importance of giving back. In a time of global crisis, closed borders and lack of physical connections we need to remember the importance of staying connected with our local and global community.
The Giving Tuesday movement strives to create a world where generosity is at the heart of society. Generosity can be shown in many different ways.
"Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbour or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give." - https://www.givingtuesday.org/about
When it comes to giving to charities and not-for-profits, in a time of economic uncertainty and limited funding and sponsorships, donations are always greatly appreciated. Another invaluable form of giving is volunteering your time and skills to any special projects or areas of need.
As we come to the end of 2021 which has been another challenging year for all, we would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our supporters of the importance of giving back. We invite you all to celebrate Giving Tuesday in any way you can. If you would like to make a contribution towards our programs for 2022 you can do so here, or if you would like to get in touch to discuss any volunteering opportunities you can contact us here.
