The year to come

As we welcome a new year, it’s full steam ahead at The Helmsman Project.

I shared with you in my end of year reflections last month our ambitious goals to ultimately grow the organisation and impact many more young lives.

In line with this, we’re very pleased to welcome a new school in term 1 this year in St Agnes Catholic High School located in Rooty Hill, and we will be looking at recruiting yet another new school partner in term 2.

Our coach recruitment process has progressed very well, with a dozen or so new pro bono coaches to be inducted next month.

On a funding front, we will be announcing a new sponsor over the coming weeks with an exciting initiative that will be offered to our upcoming group of participants.

Lastly, our funding and marketing working group will be meeting at the end of the month to plan the year to come, including the much anticipated release of our research report.

Our board, team, volunteers and partners are dedicated to the important and impactful work of The Helmsman Project. 2020 will be a big year and I look forward to collaborating with many of you to help more young people see bigger possibilities for themselves.

Best wishes,

Kim Larochelle
